10 REASONS FITNESS BOOT CAMPS ROCK!
THEY’RE FUN! - Obstacle courses, team races, the Deck of Cards game and Roll the Dice are not only fabulous exercises, they are truly fun! In the Boot Camp setting you will find yourself among friends, laughing and smiling all the way to being in the best shape of your life! When was the last time you had a fun workout at the gym?
CAMARADERIE AND MOTIVATION! - Let’s face it, we are a social bunch! We work harder and have more fun when we are supported, challenged and encouraged by friends. Ever been in the gym when there were just a handful of other people there? It was all you could do to force yourself through your workout without dying of boredom, right? That will never happen in a Boot Camp! Other class members become your team mates, your friends and you will look forward to going to class just to workout with them. The team-based set-up of Boot Camps motivates members to put forth extra effort and make amazing progress as a result.
FRESH AIR! - Hmm, fresh air or stale, smelly gym air? Which would you prefer? We humans have an innate connection with nature and the outdoors. Being outdoors around nature just makes us feel good. Why do you think we fill our indoor spaces with flowers, plants, aromatherapies and fish tanks? We like to be surrounded by the natural world, plain and simple. In addition, when you exercise in the unpredictable, outdoor environment, you challenge your mind as much as your muscles.
SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT! - When you Get Out There, in whatever Mother nature has in store and work out harder than you ever thought you could, there is no denying the sense of accomplishment! You just know that you rock because...look at what you did! And look at the weather you did it in! You’ll get an almost smug satisfaction from knowing you have what it takes to take on whatever your instructor and Mother Nature can throw your way.
VARIETY! - Take a Spinning class, a Pilates class or go to a circuit training facility like Curves and guess what? You always know exactly what to expect because it is almost always the same thing, over and over and over. Not so with Boot Camps because every class is different! There is no way to get bored when the exercises and format are different every time you show up! Boot Camps are a great way to break away from your same old, same old routine - whether that routine is no exercise at all or a routine you are just plugging through. Variety is the spice of life, right?
CHALLENGING! - The ever-changing array of exercises that can be used in Boot Camp workouts all challenge you both physically and mentally. Boot Camps emphasise full body movements that work almost all the 600 muscles in your body at the same time! Training this way is definitely challenging, but it is extremely efficient and extremely effective! And when you add in the extra inspiration and energy boost you get from your fellow team members, you just naturally embrace the challenge.
FULLY BALANCED TRAINING! - Boot Camps offer it all! Cardio, strength, endurance, balance, flexibility, agility, coordination and mental focus, often all in the same workout!
GOOD FOR ALL FITNESS LEVELS! -Boot Camp workouts are set up to allow every participant to work at their own level. Novice exercisers and fitness enthusiasts alike can work side by side and both be challenged. In the Boot Camp setting, there is no need to worry about holding others up or being held up.
BLASTS FAT! -The research bears it out: interval training is far superior to long, slow cardio when it comes to fat loss. Even when expending the same amount of calories during a workout, interval training burns more fat than long, slow cardio. Interval training also increases the “after burn” that stokes your metabolism for 24 hours following a workout. And interval training allows you to get your fat-blasting workout in in less time than a typical long, slow cardio routine.
AMAZING FITNESS LEVELS! -Boot Camps bring out your ‘A Game!” Challenging outdoor workouts with team mates absolutely elevates your drive to succeed! You will just naturally work harder than you ever would on your own and the fitness levels you can achieve this way blow away anything you’ve ever known before!

You Can Do Anything For 45 Minutes!
"You can do anything for 45 minutes." That is what my hard core boot campers always tell people who are blown away by the fact that they will workout in almost any condition.
And if the post-workout smiles are any indication, they had fun out there! Why? Because it IS fun to workout in whatever Mother Nature can throw at us!
And one of the reason's it is so much fun is because there are some SERIOUS bragging rights to be had for doing it! I mean, these guys will all go about their day today knowing that while their friends skipped the gym (or work, or whatever) due to the weather, they got out there and kicked butt! And I can pretty much guarantee you that they feel awesome, both physically and mentally, because of it! Today is going to be a great day for these guys.
Actually, there is an interesting trend I have noticed while running outdoor boot camps...the worse the weather, the more outspoken the campers are about thanking me for the workout; thanking me because they feel so good! And yep, that is absolutely as much mental as physical!
So next time the weather is less than perfect, give it a go and see what we are talking about. It doesn't have to be 45 minutes either. A 10 to 20 minute interval workout is all you need to stoke that metabolism for the next 24-48 hours.
